Competition Team
Better Together Dance Competition Team goes to 2 local competitions,
performs at different WV events, and attends different workshops to become a well rounded dancer.
Competition Dance Options
As a part of our competition team, your dancer will be included in our full team Large Group piece and a small group. From there you will have the option to choose from additional sized pieces for your dancer to perform in such as Solo, Duet/Trio, and another Small Group.
Team Requirements
To be a part of our competition team, your dancer is required to take a minimum amount of class per week, attend rehearsals on Mondays and Saturdays, workshops and the Ready for Stage Intensive over the summer. The Saturday rehearsals will start out for solos, duets, and trios from 12-3 but a monthly schedule with broken down time frames will be provided. If the group pieces will need the extra time, the Saturday rehersal can be used. The minimum classes a week helps keep your dancer versatile and ready for any style given to them to perform. Ballet is a required class for all competition members. Capable, Confident, and Worthy Dancers must take the Strength as well.
Strong Dancers- 3 Classes
Capable and Confident Dancers- 4 Classes
Worthy Dancers- 5 Classes

Attendance and Dress Code
Attendance for rehearsals is extremely important. When working in small groups, it is hard to place and clean choreography when dancers are missing. If a dancer hits 5 Rehearsal Absences a meeting will be held with the family to discuss next steps.
Dress Code- Jazz dress code is to be upheld for competition rehearsals. This also includes clean attire and proper personal hygiene. Being a physical activity, dancers work in close proximity to each other and get very hot in rehearsals.
Performance Team
Our performance team is for dancers that are ready for more but not interested in competing at the competitions for the season.
The Performance Team gets to be a part of our local community performances such as parades, local performances, non-adjudicated conventions, and other community events we can be a part of. The Performance Team has a per season costume cost of $100. Note: Any non-adjudicated conventions may require entry fees.
Requirements: Ready for Stage Camp over the summer - $200
During this 4 day intensive, the dancers will be learning the choreography and skills for the pieces that we will be taking to the events.
